The Role of the School Principal in the Professional Growth of Teachers in Primary and Secondary Schools

The study identifies the importance of the vitality of the educational system in society and its efficiency depends on the effectiveness of the educational system. The research addresses the challenges that arise as a result of rapid developments in the fields of science and technology, and stresses the necessity of adapting the educational system to social, economic, and intellectual changes. It highlights the essential role of the teacher in school work and stresses the importance of the principal’s interest in preparing and developing the teacher professionally. It highlights the competencies required for a teacher and how the principal plays a key role in helping them achieve these competencies. The research addresses the research problem and defines its objectives, focusing on the role of school principals in supporting teacher professional growth. It also discusses the importance of the research and defines its limitations, focusing on the city of Al-Bayda during the 2009-2010 academic year.
