Abstract

For the contemplative observer, the Quranic verses are replete with profound, implicit meanings that can only be grasped through understanding, contemplation, and exploration. This depth and complexity lend the words beauty and sublimity. The joy of this intellectual pursuit is what motivated me to study it. I chose the research title: "The Semantic Meaning Influencing Grammatical Rulings in Surah Al-Najm: A Case Study of Nouns and Verbs - An Applied Semantic Grammatical Study." In this study, I followed the descriptive analytical approach, which involves carefully analyzing the verses according to grammarians and exegetes by studying them in grammatical references, then exegetical works, and finally deriving the semantic meaning that guides and determines the grammatical ruling, thereby combining both meanings. The study concluded that the semantic meaning of the verses, the reasons for revelation, the relevant hadiths, and the contextual indications preceding the verse are what led the exegetes to interpret the third-person pronoun as referring to our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Likewise, it allows for the possibility of the vision being literal or metaphorical in the verse.
