Abstract

This study dealt with the economic life in the Kingdom of Singai during the period (873-1000 AH / 1468-1591 AD). It was presented in an introduction and seven axes, followed by a conclusion, and supported by sources and references. In the first axis, entitled “The Establishment of the Singai Kingdom. As for the second axis, entitled “Agriculture and its role in stimulating economic life in that kingdom,” it became clear to us that agriculture flourished in the Kingdom of Singai, where agricultural crops such as rice, millet, barley, wheat, and other agricultural crops abounded. In the third axis, entitled “Livestock and Fish Wealth,” we found the interest of the people of the Kingdom in raising animals, which abounded in camels, sheep, cows, and others. The people of the Kingdom were also interested in fish wealth because of its economic importance in the history of the Kingdom of Singai. As for the fourth axis, which is tagged “Mineral Wealth and the Most Important Industries,” it became clear to us that this Kingdom is rich in many minerals, such as gold and silver, on which many different industries were based. In the fifth axis, entitled “Internal Trade,” we found that this Kingdom had active internal trade, represented by the presence of many markets in which buying and selling operations were active among the people of Singai. As for the sixth axis, entitled “Foreign Trade,” it became clear to us that the Kingdom of Singhai is one of the centers of world trade, through which international trade has been activated between that Kingdom, North Africa, and the countries of the Maghreb. As for the seventh axis, which is tagged “Means of Financial Transactions,” we found that this Kingdom has many means of financial transactions, which are represented by currency, measures, weights, measures, and other means of financial transactions.
