The geographical location played a crucial role in Egypt's history throughout the ages, as it is situated at the crossroads of the Asian and African continents. This unique position enabled Egypt to become a hub for significant cultural and economic activities between the world's continents. Egypt, with its distinctive location, attracted various prestigious trade elements, including those from Fes, Tunis, Turkey, Syria, and others, eager to engage in substantial commercial transactions. Given that Cairo was one of the largest cities in the Ottoman Empire after Istanbul, many Fassi traders decided to settle in Egypt, a vital point of intersection for international trade routes. Consequently, Cairo's trade was vibrant and characterized by diversity. This study aims to explore Fassi commercial establishments in Egypt during the period 1700-1800 CE and the facilitating factors for trade growth.
