Witness protection measures in contemporary international criminal systems "The Rome Statute as a model"

Abstract

This study is to highlight measures of the protection of witnesses according to the Rome basic system. The descriptive analytical method was used in the provisions listed in the Statue of the International Criminal Court and procedural rules evidence related to a protection of the witness. One of the most important findings of the study was that a system contains various measures in nature to protect a witness, but these give him only temporary   reassurance. This led to being interference and ambiguity in the role of each all them and reveals differences in the early practices of the court. Also, it presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity to define the leadership responsibility of a one of the tribunal’s organs to take these measures.
