This paper seeks to highlight the interpretive role of functionalist theory by applying its theoretical framework to empirical research. The study addresses the practical applications of this theory, which has consistently been, and perhaps continues to be, one of the fundamental theories in the humanities and, more specifically, in the social sciences.
