This study explores the interpretations of Imam Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi in Surah Ali 'Imran, as presented in his Tafsir "Al-Tafsir Al-Wasit." It aims to examine Tantawi's preferences and methodologies in interpreting this chapter of the Quran. The research delves into Tantawi's scholarly approach, his biography, and his methodology in exegesis. Using an inductive and analytical approach, the study highlights Tantawi's scientific methodology in interpreting the verses, his attention to balance and selection among interpretations, and the diversity of his preferences, including theological, jurisprudential, linguistic, and recitational aspects. It also emphasizes Tantawi's reliance on the Quran, Sunnah, and the opinions of the companions and followers in his interpretations.
