Abstract

The current era is witnessing significant transformations in communications technology that affect political and economic relationships and change thinking patterns in different societies. The Internet has spread worldwide, facilitating communication, networking, and the exchange of ideas and opinions. Websites, personal blogs, and chat networks have emerged, altering the nature and form of modern media. Social media networks have also emerged, enabling users to exchange visual, audio, and file content, as well as engage in direct communication and interaction with the masses. Social media networks have played a role in breaking the monopoly of information and exerting pressure on governments and officials. Users gather within these networks and exchange diverse perspectives, influencing the diversity and richness of those networks. Digital social networks play an active role in providing individuals with information, positions, and trends, contributing to shaping their awareness and equipping them to influence and attract others. These networks are characterized by interactivity and collaboration. The increase in the number of subscribers to these networks, especially among Arab youth, has led to an escalation of their influence and role in society, posing increased competition to traditional media in shaping public opinion on political, economic, and social issues.
