This study aimed to examine differences between teachers of academically gifted students and teachers of students with disabilities in psychological flow, psychological endurance, and cognitive style (risk-taking/caution), as well as to provide qualitative interpretations of these differences through interview analysis. A sequential explanatory mixed-methods design was adopted, combining quantitative and descriptive-analytical approaches. The sample consisted of 46 teachers: 10 from gifted students’ centers and 36 from centers serving students with disabilities in Al-Bayda and Derna, Libya. Measures of psychological flow, endurance, risk-taking, and caution were administered, supplemented by interviews with administrators and specialists. The findings revealed significant differences in overall psychological flow and its dimensions of task absorption and control in favor of gifted-student teachers, although overall flow was low across the sample. Psychological endurance was generally high, with significantly higher levels among gifted-student teachers. Teachers of students with disabilities showed greater caution, whereas gifted-student teachers demonstrated greater calculated risk-taking. Qualitative findings indicated that these differences reflect functional adaptation to the distinct demands of each educational environment.
