Abstract

The phenomenon of the Arabized and the non-Arabic in the Arabic language and the Holy Qur’an is one of the thorny issues that preoccupied researchers, ancient and modern. This is because it affects many of the words mentioned in the Holy Qur’an. Likewise, the ancients’ concept of the Arabized and the intruder differed, as they differed in their arbitrary attempt to return these words to Arabic origins, and they also differed in the occurrence of the Arabized in the Holy Qur’an. Ibn Duraid is one of those who had an opinion on this phenomenon.

In this research, I dealt with this phenomenon by describing and analyzing it according to the ancients, in the concept of its terms (the Arabized and the intrusive), and discussed the return of these words to Arabic origins. Is the Holy Qur’an among its words Arabized? Then I took Ibn Duraid as a model to analyze his opinion on this phenomenon by extrapolating what he mentioned about it in his two books (Al-Jumhara and Al-Ittiqāq), especially when he dealt with the words that appeared in the Holy Qur’an and were known to be Arabized words.
