Abstract

During the past years, Libya has faced numerous problems related to the electricity industry, manifested in continuous power outages in many Libyan cities. These outages have affected industrial and agricultural development as well as household consumption. This situation prompted the researcher to study electricity generation, development, and growth in Libya from 1970 to 2016. The aim is to identify the main causes behind these outages, assess the adequacy of electricity production in Libya, and determine whether Libya needs to improve its electricity production processes. Additionally, the research aims to evaluate the sufficiency of electricity supply for all activities reliant on electricity as a significant energy source.
