Human life in the world is facing accumulating, accelerating, and interconnected challenges in time and space. These challenges include multiple environmental threats caused by human interaction with their natural, social, and economic environment during their developmental journey. Humans are the active element in restoring balance in the ecosystem, and social upbringing plays a fundamental role in restoring this balance, especially when achieving sustainable development that is compatible with the environment. Schools, media, and religion contribute to the awareness and education of individuals to participate in achieving an appropriate environmental education for the public, from children to adults and decision-makers. Social institutions vary in each society according to its nature and circumstances, but they all aim to comprehensively prepare individuals to face societal problems. To solve environmental problems, it is necessary to address the social and economic factors that have caused these problems, as social institutions play a crucial role in protecting and developing the natural and social environment through individual awareness. Preserving the environment requires individuals to learn how to be responsible in their actions towards the environment, and this requires continuous efforts from various social institutions to promote proper environmental behavior in society.
