Abstract

The aim of this study was to acknowledge women’s participation in micro projects and their role in developing local communities. This helps in raising the standard of living for their families, reducing unemployment rates, and realizing their own self-esteem. Furthermore, the study focuses on the major obstacles these micro project women face in an attempt to recommend solutions that are capable of boosting their role in local communities’ development. Descriptive methods and field surveys have been implemented for the purpose, including women with micro projects in the area, especially in the municipalities of Al Bayidha and Shahat. Among the results collected is the fact that most of the projects are self-funded without any financial or training support from the government specially to women aged 26 and above.
