The study aimed to assess the validity of the regular continuous matrices test for use with the age group (38-50) in the Green Mountain region. The test was administered to a sample of (520) participants (260 males, 260 females), selected using stratified random sampling. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was employed for statistical analysis in the current study. The reliability coefficients were calculated using the (Kuder-Richardson Formula 20 (KR-20) for both males and females separately in each age group and for the total sample. The results indicated a good level of reliability for the test, with reliability coefficients ranging from (.801) for the male sample at the age of 41 to (.957) for the male sample at the age of 48. Using the split-half method (Spearman-Brown) to assess the test reliability based on gender, age groups, and the overall sample, the results showed reliability coefficients ranging from (.849) for the female sample at the age of 47 to (.979) for the female sample at the age of 38. Regarding the validity of the SPM test, the results of the factor analysis indicated that the five test groups form only one factor, which is general mental ability. The results also demonstrated the test's construct validity (internal consistency for each subset with the overall test score). The study evaluated the hypothetical construct validity by selecting educational level as an external criterion. Additionally, the self-validity coefficients were large and high, indicating strong self-validity for the test subsets and the overall score.
