Abstract

Environmental pollution is the corruption that affects all components of the environment, altering their characteristics and features, which may lead to their destruction. There is no doubt that human behavior, sometimes lacking respect for the environment and neglecting its components, poses a threat to its existence. This is evident from the emergence of many environmental problems that have taken on a global nature, indicating the severity of what threatens human life and its continuity. Those who contemplate these environmental problems conclude that they are nothing but crises resulting from the lack of environmental knowledge related to how humans interact with the environment and its resources. Despite many studies addressing the environment and its issues in many countries, to the best of the researcher's knowledge, there has not been a study examining the awareness of the risks of environmental pollution among geography teachers in the local environment. Although geography curricula are closely related to environmental issues and elements, this prompted the researcher to conduct this study to assess the environmental awareness of geography teachers.
