This study aims to identify the problems and obstacles that have led to the abandonment of national labor in craft and professional work. It examines whether there are technical, social, and economic factors contributing to this trend. The study surveyed students from Omar Al-Mukhtar University, representing different faculties and academic years. The questionnaire focused on technical, social, and economic aspects, targeting students who are considered educated and cultured individuals in society. The main findings indicate that there are various technical difficulties cited by the sample participants as reasons for the abandonment of national labor in these fields. Additionally, social factors such as societal perception and restrictions on these professions were highlighted. Furthermore, economic issues related to lack of support from authorities, project financing, and the preference for expatriate labor over national labor were also identified, along with challenges related to appropriate workplaces, raw materials, and machinery.
