Abstract

This research paper examines the role of the Libyan University in shaping the culture and intellectual elite in Libya from 1955 to 1973. The Libyan University is a significant institution in the development of society and the reproduction of values and knowledge in the country. The research focuses on understanding the culture of the university space and its impact on society, as well as analyzing the formation of the intellectual elite during that period. The research also addresses the historical circumstances that the Libyan University faced during its establishment and growth, including the scarcity of financial and human resources available at the time. The study relies on historical sources and UN reports to uncover the educational and cultural situation in Libya during that period.
