The reality and obstacles of media awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder from the perspective of faculty members at Omar Al-Mukhtar University

The study aimed to identify the level of reality and obstacles to media awareness of PTSD from the point of view of members of the teaching staff at Omar Al-Mukhtar University. The study followed the descriptive approach, and the researcher developed his questionnaire, relying on some previous studies, where its reliability and stability coefficient was confirmed. The study sample was represented by members of the teaching staff at Omar Al-Mukhtar University in the Department of Psychology and the Department of Media. The results of the study showed that the level of media awareness of PTSD was low, and the study also showed that the level of both the level of media facing the psychological problems of the psychological consequences of a disorder post-traumatic stress disorder was low and so was the role of the media's importance in protecting society from PTSD, while the level of obstacles limiting the effectiveness of the media in raising awareness of PTSD was high. Finally, the study presented a set of recommendations that are hoped to be followed to raise media awareness of PTSD.
