The origin of values and the source of moral evaluation

Abstract

This study deals with research into the origin of values, and the source of moral evaluation, considering that values are the focus of all ethical studies, and a driver of moral action and through them we move from what is to what should be, and our goal here is to get to know the opinions of philosophers with their various intellectual trends. On the origin of values and revealing the formal nature in the search for the source of evaluative judgments. This study relied on the critical analytical approach while not neglecting other approaches. Perhaps what is closest to what is correct is the subjective source of value judgment that is due to the nature of the human mind, but we should not ignore the influence of the external source, as values are nothing but an expression of the individual’s desire to please the group to which he belongs.
