This study examines the importance of knowledge in Arab Islamic thought and seeks to determine whether Islamic thinkers have been able to reach the essence and limits of knowledge, as well as the level of certainty associated with it. It also reviews the methodologies employed by these thinkers in presenting and addressing intellectual problems, shedding light on the philosophical value and depth of their opinions in areas such as gems, souls, nature, the world, humanity, and knowledge. The research also focuses on the role of reason in Islam and its importance in argumentation, as well as avoiding evils and sins. It discusses the Mu'tazilites and their role in defending the religion and employing rational arguments to counter external and internal currents. Additionally, it highlights the views of Judge Abdul-Jabbar regarding knowledge and belief, and his role in formulating the Mu'tazilite doctrine and using a systematic approach in argumentation and proof. Judge Abdul-Jabbar is considered one of the prominent scholars of the Mu'tazilites, and this research serves as a study of his opinions and contributions to the development of Mu'tazilite thought.
