Asceticism in life is abandoning its pleasures, distancing oneself from its desires, and freeing oneself from its deceptive illusions, while being content with a simple life and being satisfied with necessities. In Andalusian poetry, asceticism is considered an important and recurring theme. Andalusian poets present a philosophical and spiritual vision of asceticism, expressing a inclination towards detachment from the material world and striving for the hereafter. This article explores the concept of asceticism in Andalusian poetry and provides examples from the works of prominent Andalusian poets. Their poetry revolves around transcending worldly desires and adhering to spiritual and moral values. This poetry reflects a rich and diverse cultural heritage that emphasizes values of detachment, selflessness, and devotion to God. Asceticism manifests in renouncing the prohibited and being content with what is permissible, surpassing worldly possessions. Asceticism is regarded as a spiritual and philosophical approach that seeks to achieve closeness to God and transcend the transient world. Andalusian poetry serves as an influential medium for spreading the idea of asceticism and promoting its values in Andalusian society.
