This research examines the commercial activity in Jalo Oasis during the 19th century. Jalo Oasis is part of the Eastern Oasis Triangle and plays a strategic role in connecting trade caravans between Benghazi, Wadi and Kufra. Trans-Saharan trade was one of the key factors in the lives of the inhabitants of the desert oases and northern Chad. The unique geographical location of Jalo Oasis has a significant impact on stimulating commercial activity, as it is connected to a network of main roads and acts as a link between passing trade caravans in the region. The research explores the impact of trade on the local economy in the oasis and the role played by professional traders in enhancing commercial movement.
