Abstract

This study is based on an attempt to shed light on palm cultivation in the Jaghbub Oasis and to identify the prerequisites that contribute to this and to identify some of the obstacles that negatively affect it, the most important of which is the absence of government support for this craft with the farmer's inability to cover the costs of cultivation in light of his limited income, which resulted in the neglect of palm trees and thus they became vulnerable to diseases and pests that spread corruption in the palm tree As for the climatic factors in the oasis, they are considered among the most important factors that positively affect palm cultivation. From this standpoint, the study recommends greater attention to the agricultural sector and appropriate support from the government to make the palm tree one of the most important economic resources in the country, especially since the palm fruit has a very great nutritional value.
