Abstract

This study aimed to identify the impact of the strategic planning's dimensions as an independent variable on the performance of employees as the dependent research variable in Libyan commercial banks in the Al-Bayda city. In order to achieve the aim of the study, a questionnaire was designed and distributed to the sample of the study component of Libyan commercial banks located in the Al-Bayda city and its suburbs, where a number of questionnaires were handed out to 7 banks. A total of 60 questionnaires were distributed to managers and their assistants and department heads, of which 45 questionnaires were returned and valid for analysis. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program was used to process the collected data, using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics to data analysis. The study reached several results, the most important of which was the existence of a statistically significant importance, at the level of (α = 0.05) of the dimensions of strategic planning (strategic message, strategic objectives, strategic analysis, strategic choice) in the performance of employees of Libyan commercial banks. In addition, the study found that there was no difference between the views of the study sample on the extent of impact of the strategic planning on the performance of employees in commercial banks. Based on the findings of the study, it recommends the necessity of linking the results of evaluating the performance of bank employees and strategic planning based on these results, which ensures that performance evaluation is the main tool in strategic planning.
