Abstract

The aim of the research is to study the subject of the financial performance of the Bank of Commerce and Development, under Law No. 1 of 2013, which is concerned with the prevention of usurious interests, and to examine whether this bank maintained its financial performance during the two periods (before, after) the application, which was divided into the period from (2009-2013), and the period following it (2014-2017), in addition to researching the impact of this law on financial performance, which was measured through the Banking Safety Model (CAMELS), in addition to financial analysis; It was based on the eta-square test (η²), which measures the magnitude of the effect of a law. The results revealed that there were no statistically significant differences for (capital adequacy, profitability, liquidity) before and after the application of the usurious transactions prevention law. As for the asset quality index; There were statistically significant differences before and after the application of the law. As for the effect; The tests revealed a positive impact on (the ratio of total revenues to total expenses, liquidity index), and negatively on the indicators (capital adequacy, asset quality, profitability), in addition to the impact on the growth rate of the financial position, and this at a time when it achieved The bank has a rating of (2) according to the CAMEL model.
