Abstract

The organizational culture consists of a set of values, beliefs and assumptions shared by employees in the organization. Such values, beliefs and assumptions are supposed to be the main factor to support the creativity in the organization. The main aim of the current paper is to uncover the values and beliefs that present the prevalent organizational culture in the Tobruk University. The study sample consists of 48 employees and the data are collected by the questionnaire and analyzed by relevant statistical techniques. The study reveals that the dimensions of the current organizational culture do not have an impact on the creativity in the Tobruk University, except one dimension, which is organizational glue, that has a positive impact on the organizational creativity. In addition, the study shows that the creativity level in the Tobruk University is low. Finally, the current study suggests a set of managerial implications that are hopefully be applied by both practitioners and academics.
