The Relationship of Anxiety and Depression to Psychological Adjustment for the Hard of Hearing

Abstract

The current study aimed at achieving the following was to investigate the level Anxiety, Depression and psych Adjustment among students who suffer from (hard of hearing Students) and its Relation to assessing the level of psych Adjustment, which is related to the disability for the hearing impairment students in the center of Aljabal Alakhder for deaf and hard of hearing in Al-Bedaa/ Darna in Libya. The sample of the study consisted of (30) hearing impaired students from schools of deaf and hard of hearing) aged (18-12) years, who were selected randomly. The investigators used psych Adjustment scale, the disability of anxiety scale and Depression scale for data collection Analysis To achieve these objectives, valid and reliable instruments has been developed were randomly selected from The sample of the study The results of the study indicated that: - There were significant differences in the relation between sex variable Hared of Hearing male and female in two variables (Depression and anxiety) the results of the study showed that high level of anxiety from disability specifically (for female), There were no statistically significant differences (psych Adjustment) between  the male and female toward the female hard of hearing student. There were relations between the low level of anxiety and the psych Adjustment. The anxiety of the disability can be predicted by psych Adjustment, but the Depression cannot be predicted by psych Adjustment.
