Abstract

This study examines the role of urban interception surfaces such as buildings and streets in rainwater harvesting. The research aims to analyze how these surfaces can be utilized to channel and collect water for mitigating the problem of water scarcity in urban areas. An overview of design methods and technologies used in rainwater harvesting through urban interception surfaces, including buildings and streets, is presented. The challenges associated with designing and implementing these systems are highlighted, including the management of collected water, storage, and efficient and sustainable utilization. The research serves as a valuable reference for architects, urban planners, and urban infrastructure designers interested in sustainable and innovative design of rainwater harvesting systems in the urban environment.
