Abstract

This study aims to identify the correlations between leadership patterns (parental, authoritarian, democratic, and free leadership) and administrative creativity of the Omar Al-Mukhtar University employees, in addition to knowing the common leadership pattern of the university administration. In order to achieve this objective, a questionnaire was subjected to all 2000 employees, from which 315 employees were chosen as a study sample. The main finding of the study is that the dominant leadership pattern at Omar Al-Mukhtar University is paternal, then authoritarian. The result also shows the strongest positive correlation is between administrative creativity and parental leadership, whereas the weakest correlation is between administrative creativity and democratic leadership. The result also shows that the employees are well treated and with high spirit which in return reflects on their professional and administrative performance. The study highlights a series of recommendations that will help the decision maker to increase the administrative creativity of the employee.
