Organizational Trust and Its Role in Enhancing Organizational Commitment "An Applied Study on A Sample of Employees at Al-Abraq Rural Hospital"

The current study sought to investigate the role played by organizational trust in its dimensions (trust in senior management, trust in direct supervisor, trust in co-workers) in enhancing organizational commitment in its dimensions (affective commitment, normative commitment, and continuance commitment). The study population consisted of (279) employees in the medical and administrative professions at Al-Abraq rural hospital. The descriptive analytical approach was used, and the questionnaire was the tool used to collect data. The statistical program (SPSS v25) was used to process the data collected from the simple random sample estimated at (138) employees. The results of the study revealed that the level of organizational trust was high, and the level of organizational commitment was also high among hospital employees. The study also found that there was a statistically significant effect of organizational trust on organizational commitment, as well as there was a statistically significant effect for each dimension of organizational trust on organizational commitment in the hospital under study. The study recommended that the hospital management should realize the meaning and importance of organizational trust and its impact on improving and enhancing the organizational commitment of its employees.
