Abstract

This research aims to highlight the role of the Barqa tribes in supporting the Senussi order, from the arrival of Sayyid Muhammad ibn Ali al-Sanusi in 1840 AD until the end of the order's military role in confronting foreign invasion in 1930 AD. The research concludes that the Barqa tribes and their sheikhs played a vital and important role in welcoming the sheikh of the order, adopting his ideas and approach, and even supporting him and joining his order. This support was manifested in several areas, including political, economic, and social.
