The Principle of the Right to Self-Determination for Minorities and Its Impact On the Principle of National Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity

The research explores the principle of the right to self – determination of minorities and its direct and principle of national sovereignty. As one of the most debated principles in international law, the right to self – determination has been enshrined in the UN Charter and international covenants as a fundamental right of peoples However, its application to minorities within independent states raises complex challenges concerning territorial integrity and state sovereignty. The study aims to analyze the legal framework of this principle, review international experiences, and explore the balance between the right to self – determination and the principle of national sovereignty in light of contemporary international law
