Electoral Abstention and its Impact on the Quality of Decisions in the Libyan House of Representatives

Abstract

This study came under the title “Electoral Reluctance and its Impact on the Quality of Decisions in the Libyan House of Representatives” to find out the reality of the electoral process in Libya, and to determine the reasons for the Libyans’ reluctance to participate in the recent House of Representatives elections. His election and did not fulfill his electoral promises, and what led to the Libyan voter's reluctance to participate in the elections of the House of Representatives, and its implications for the quality of legislative decisions, and among what this study seeks also to determine the level and source of the political culture of Libyan society.

The study reached a number of results that we can summarize in two very important parties, namely: the voter and the candidate, and that the voter’s reluctance to participate in the recent elections was due to the loss of confidence in the candidates, even if they differed between the National Congress elections and the House of Representatives elections, and the most important results of this study reached It is the issuance of decisions by the House of Representatives that do not rise to solving the problems of the Libyan voter who is looking forward to a decent life, because its members won a small number of votes in an important institution in the country.
