Abstract

This study aimed to determine the possibility of establishing e-banking as an alternative to traditional banks as part of the economic development process. Given the role of banks in financing various economic sectors and enabling the monetary authorities to regulate cash and credit in the economy, which helps within the economic development process. The descriptive analytical method and the questionnaire sheet were used as a tool for data collection, and also the statistical analysis program SPSS was used to analyze and present the results of the applied study, the study found that the Libyan banking sector should be developed, the study reached a set of conclusions and recommendations the most important of which is the weakness of the infrastructure and technical staff to perform e-banking in addition to the weakness of legislation and laws on the development of banking awareness, spreading the e-banking culture and starting the process of converting to e-banking because of its positive effects on the economy.
